Imagine brewing gallons of bone broth in your kitchen every week, a task I, Thomas, co-founder of Functional Future, took on to infuse my diet with this nutrient-rich, functional liquid. While taste took a backseat in my early experiments, creating a palatable broth every time was harder than I expected. Drinking something you enjoy, especially if it's part of your routine, is crucial. I encountered a significant challenge: no existing product on the market could meet my high standards. The problem with conventional bone broth production is twofold. Firstly, the typical manufacturing process compromises the integrity of hyaluronic acid, a key component for health benefits, due to high heat and prolonged storage. 

Secondly, these broths often sit on shelves for extended periods, negatively affecting both taste and functionality. This realization spurred my determination to create a bone broth that preserved the crucial nutrients and delivered the fresh, rich taste that health-conscious individuals deserve.

Crafted from free-roaming, grass-fed Nordic cattle on sustainable farms, our organic Bone Broth is a testament to innovation and tradition. In collaboration with the Technological Institute, we refined a cooking process that safeguards essential molecules like collagen and hyaluronic acid while fine-tuning factors such as temperature, pressure, and ingredient concentration. Supported by Denmark's Innovation Fund and the INNObooster program, this initiative elevates traditional broth-making to a new level of craftsmanship. Our meticulously refined production process ensures a high concentration of protein, collagen, and essential amino acids in an easily absorbable form, while also preserving hyaluronic acid that is typically compromised by excessive heat. Collagen, the most abundant protein in the body, forms more than a third of all bodily tissue and is vital for the health of skin, hair, connective tissue, tendons, muscles, and more. The process renders the product easily digestible and well-tolerated by everyone. We achieve a molecular weight of about 8 kDa (kilodaltons) for our collagen peptides during manufacturing, offering advantages over smaller peptides by reducing breakdown and extending exposure in the gastrointestinal system. 

Compared to plant-based protein powders, our broth is rich in specific amino acids, including glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and arginine. Functional Future Bone Broth is non-GMO certified and has passed third-party GMP testing for heavy metals. By definition, our product is an upcycled one, utilizing valuable bone matrix material that would otherwise be discarded, showcasing our commitment to innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable practices.

Hyaluronic acid, also known as "nature's best lubricant", is a disaccharide with a chemical composition that makes it easy for water molecules to bind. It acts as a humectant, meaning it helps bind water to the body's cells. It's great for keeping skin and synovial fluid hydrated, an important beauty benefit regardless of skin type.

To make our collagen powder, we have simply taken neutral Bone Broth liquid and gently dried it into a Bone Broth powder (link). It is thus all the functional properties from Bone Broth condensed into a convenient and taste-neutral powder.

However, it loses part of the hyaluronic acid in the manufacturing process to powder, and you should therefore choose our liquid Bone Broth if a high concentration of hyaluronic acid is important to you. Our liquid Bone Broth has the flavor of vegetables and herbs and will also add more umami to dinner dishes, etc. - so this is also an argument for choosing the Bone Broth liquid. However, most people combine the two products so that the collagen powder is taken daily and then supplemented with liquid Bone Broth a few times a week. The literature supports daily portions of collagen between 2.5 – 10 g, depending on your needs - so both capsules and pure powder are good alternatives to each other.
